One of my favourite trips to date: Barcelona.
Before the trip had even begun, I knew it was going to be a picturesque place. I mean, this was the view flying into Barcelona.
During our trip we decided to do an open-top hop-on-hop-off bus tour which we found was best as we were only there for a few days. Despite it being mid-December it was still quite warm (well, warm for an English person in December), so the weather was great for us. Going in December also meant that there were lots of Christmas markets which made it such a good time to go.
Photo Tip: Go to the top of the shopping mall in Plaça d’Espanya for a good view and a photo opportunity. From here you get a good view of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and the Magic fountains. It felt like the middle of Barcelona here (it’s probably not but it felt like it, okay?).
Another fun thing to do is go up the cable car to Teleferic de Montjuic (pretty much a castle up a hill) which also has some good views of the city and the beach.
One thing you can’t miss is the beach, obviously. This is where I took some of my favourite pictures of the trip. There are some great bars and restaurants along the sea-front which, even though more expensive than other ones you can find in the city, has such a great view (especially at sunset) that maybe the price tag is worth it. Depends how much money you’ve got.
Of course we went to the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia. If we hadn’t, it would have been like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower. Now this was impressive. It was crazily busy so I’d seriously recommend you buying your tickets before you go, which is also cheaper, just FYI.
This was genuinely one of my favourite trips that I’ve done, and when I’ve got time I will hopefully do a travel guide on this city. Anyway, here are the pictures.
